At Buzzbee we can get your season off to a speedy start with these tried and tested Buzzbee packages of bees. To deliver this, our bees come established on full deep frames, ready to go providing a major head start to establishing a colony of bees in your hive. The bee package come in two types of NUC Beehives; from the economic poly corflute NUC hive to the fully wooden NUC hive. Both of this hives come fully assembled, with 5 wooden frame drawn or partially drawn providing the established colony you need.
WHERE CAN THE COLONIES BE PICKED UP?
Colonies of bees can be picked up from the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne by appointment. We will coordinate this with you to establish an exact day and time however usually this is between 8:00 – 10:00am in the morning or after sun set in the evening. This is to ensure that most foraging bees return to the NUC before being closed up.
WHEN CAN THEY BE PICKED UP?
Typically, pickups start in Mid-October and go right through to early February, however changeable weather conditions and circumstance beyond our control can affect these timings.
As part of the booking process, you will be asked a preliminary pickup date of when you would like to collect your NUC colony of bees. Please note that this is not a firm date but provides us an indication of when you would like to receive them. We will do our best to try to achieve this, but date preference of available stock is first booked, first served.
HOW DO I INSERT THE BEES INTO THEIR NEW HOME?
On arriving for the pickup, we recommend allowing for some extra time where we will walk you through the process. In addition, Buzzbee will provide you some information to take away with you; the steps of correctly moving the bees into their new home.
