They look good but when it comes to fitting then to a bottom they are to short in length which I am disappointed in as now I have to come up with some way to hold then in in the length

Always a pleasure dealing with Buzzbee, my latest purchase has proved an easy option to boosting the strength of my hive coming out of winter. Seven days in and the pic tells the story.
A 2 Kilo lot has been added to a weak hive that needed feeding due to the cold and wet weather we are currently experiencing. It will be interesting to the health after another two days. After days we appear to have more activity at the entrance.
Excellent product, easy to use & refill, fits nicely on the hive.

First time beekeeper and loved this for my flow hive. Easy to use, does not disturb the bees and has been a great way to provide extra feeding going into winter.
The material (6 times the thermal/insulation efficiency of wood) the precision manufacturing and compatibility (inner dimensions, not the outer) with the dimensions of a Langstroth hive, including FlowHive supers, make these the long-awaited step-up if winter insulation or summer heat are a challenge. I am gradually replacing deteriorating wood boxes with these and so far I am very happy with them. Two pieces of advice - three coats of (water-based) paint because bees and ants love eating polystyrene, and have a good supply of food-grade acrylic epoxy resin on hand. After painting, coat the rims to provide a glass-like surface where the boxes interface otherwise they tend to stick and hive tools are no friend of polystyrene. Also the boxes will get dinted and the resin is an excellent repair medium.

We found it interesting that you are coating your hive with three coats of water based paint where we totally agree wiith this aproach. We do the same. In addition we tend to also paint the inside with a couple of coats too. This tends to reduce the bees and ant nibbling as you highlited.
We love your idea of coating with an epoxy coating and can totally see the benifits of this. We will try this out so thank you for your tip.
