High Quality Buzzbee Langstroth Telescopic Beehive Available in 8 and 10 Frame Sizes

This popular double deep super Langstroth hive has gone through a major upgrade providing a number of enhancements from floor to roof.

FOUR HOLES ROOF VENTILATION

This includes much more ventilation through the roof/outer cover enabling much more warm air to flow upwards and out of the four ventilation holes. It's designed to keep the bees in and pests out whilst allowing air to flow.

ENTRANCE STOPPER

The floor now has a stop at the front where the adjustable entrance is placed. This prevents pushing the adjustable entrance to deep into the hive which can be a problem once the bees are at home.

PRE-DRILLED HOLES FOR EASY ASSEMBLY

The Super/Brood Full Deep Boxes have been totally redesigned to make it easier during the construction phase. The super strong dovetail joints still remain however now have pre-drilled holes on one part to help prevent splitting of the timber and less work needing to be undertaken on your side.

These allow you to use either nails (provided) or if you want even greater strength, to use 45mm wood screws (will need to be provided).

SUPER-SIZED HANDLES

In addition to the enhancement for the construction, we have generously enlarged the hand grips to make it much easier to handle whilst wearing gloves.

SCREWS NOT NAILS

Another almost invisible improvement but extremely important is the way that the pre-built parts are assembled. We believe in quality and strength and therefore have assembled the roof/outer cover and the floor using screws and not just nails. This will ensures many more years of better physical bonding when the wood naturally tries to twist and distort.

This is easily the most popular hive design available today and is also arguably the best designed hive for a beginner.

This is a perfect starter hive to learn the different parts of the hive, whilst being available in two sizes.

Preparation Guide - Assembly Buzzbee Wooden Beehive

Assembling the Wooden Beehive with Wood Glue and Screws
Start by following the assembly instructions provided in the Buzzbee Langstroth Assembly Manual. Begin by laying out all the wooden components and identifying the pieces. Apply a high-quality wood glue to the joints and edges where the wooden parts connect. Align the pieces carefully and secure them with screws, following the recommended screw placement in the manual. Ensure each joint is tight and properly aligned to create a sturdy, square structure.

Securing the Hive for Durability
After screwing and gluing all parts together, double-check that the beehive is stable and level. The combination of wood glue and screws ensures a durable and long-lasting assembly. Allow the glue to cure completely as per the manufacturer's instructions before moving on to the finishing touches, such as sanding any rough edges or cleaning up excess glue.

Painting the Exterior of a Paradise Honey Polystyrene Beehive
After the assembly of the Buzzbee Langstroth wooden hive use a UV-protective, water-based exterior paint to protect it from weathering. Apply the paint evenly to the exterior surfaces, using at least two or three coats for thorough coverage. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next, ensuring that the hive is fully dry before placing it outdoors to provide long-lasting protection against the elements.
