I was very pleased with the quality of the foundation and also the fact that they were already covered with wax. They fitted snuggly into my frames and the bees have happily taken to the couple I have placed in my super. A good price as well, especially with the free shipping offer!

Preparation Guide Plastic Foundation

To prepare beekeeping wooden frames for use with plastic foundation, first, assemble the wooden frames securely using wood glue and panel pins with the top and bottom bar grooves facing inwards. Ensure the frames are square and sturdy. Next, if needed, apply a thin coating of beeswax to the plastic foundation to encourage bees to draw out comb more readily. Insert the plastic foundation into the groove or slot of the wooden frame, ensuring it fits snugly without warping. Depending upon your frame design, secure the foundation in place with wedge bars or support pins, depending on the frame design, to keep the foundation stable and ready for hive installation.
