Why add Minerals & Trace Elements?

Honeybees actively try to source minerals and trace elements however due to environmental stresses they are often unable to find them.

The nutritional elements that limit honeybee development to the highest degree due to their scarcity in pollen are Na, S, Cu, P and K. Zn and N. (Michal Filipiak et al. Institute of Environmental Sciences, Jagiellonian University, Poland).

Sugar syrup has very little nutritional value apart from carbohydrates however it is necessary for the feeding of bees when there is insufficient stores of honey available.

It is:

  • bioavailable
  • 100% natural
  • chemical free
  • colourless
  • odourless
  • no heat
  • no brewing
  • no freezing
  • organically sourced
  • NOT a plant based product.

INGREDIENTS:

Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium , Sodium, Nitrogen, Glutamic Acid, Phosphorus, Chloride, Boron, Iron, Manganese, Fatty Acids, Molybdenum, Silicon, Sulphur, Zinc, Lithium, Copper, Chromium, Strontium, Vanadium, Nickel, Bromine, Iodine and Rubidium.

Made from concentrated ocean minerals .

POLLEN ANALYSIS

The mineral content of honeybee-collected pollen from 34 floral species was analysed for 10 elements. The major and minor elements were the following:

Potassium (K), Phosphorus (P), Sulfur (S), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), Sodium (Na), Iron (Fe), Zinc (Zn), Manganese (Mn), Copper (Cu).

Many of these minerals are important components in enzymatic metabolism and also nervous system polarisation and depolarisation. To emphasise this point, the minerals identified in the three main body regions of the honeybee and in royal jelly are potassium, sodium, magnesium and phosphorus. These minerals are crucial in honeybee metabolism and also in proper nervous system functioning.

THE IMPORTANCE OF FATTY ACIDS

Fatty acids are necessary for bee reproduction and development including fat bodies that play a role in energy storage and release as well as immune function in insects.

THE IMPORTANCE OF AMINO ACIDS

The amino acids (glutamic acid) in pollens are required by the bee for synthesis of tissues, hemolymph proteins, enzymes, etc.

Mineral beezzz

It’s difficult to write a review on this as it’s a matter of trust. Will my bees be better off with the mineral supplement? I’m sure they will. How will I know? Haven’t a clue!!
I have one concern: when put into drinking water there’s a danger of evaporation leading to an over concentration of the supplement. So some way of testing would be helpful
